What is Dance Meditation Technique?

 
 

Dance Meditation Technique is a 2-hour concentrated movement meditation practice that produces tremendous physical, mental and emotional release, relief, insight and joy alongside an incredible cardio.

This modality applies the principles of seated meditation to a movement practice. Instead of sitting still, we practice moving a ton. Instead of keeping quiet, we practice supporting each other in using our voices. Instead of trying not to think, we practice wishing each other well so that we can all have an excellent class. Like with seated meditation, the focus is inward with a clear effort to generate concentration.

This is not a social dance. There is a warm-up where the techniques are explained and practiced and where the practitioners ask questions etc. Then there is a 1-hour playlist wherein we work with the techniques. Then there is a cooldown , rest, and a brief meditation. Pace is self determined. No experience is necessary and it is also a relevant practice to those with expert level dance experience.
